To celebrate Earth Day, McNary Heights visited the McNary Nature Trails and Dam! The day was filled with engaging activities and educational presentations on water pollution, ecosystems, recycling, and more. Students from Mrs. Erz’s and Mrs. Buckalew's Science classes recently visited the MCBONES Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site, where they had the opportunity to explore an active archaeological dig. They learned about mammoth fossils, including the Columbian Mammoths that lived in the area thousands of years ago, and even had the chance to excavate some bones. Thank you to MCBONES Research Foundation for giving our students a tour of the site!

Our students had an amazing time during their visit to The Umapine Creamery! They had the opportunity to learn about the entire cheese and milk production process, from tending to the crops grown for the cows to understanding the workings of the milking parlor and seeing a cheese-making demonstration. They even got to taste-test some delicious cheese and chocolate milk. The highlight of the trip? Petting some adorable baby cows!
