Senior Spotlight! Melany Ortiz plans to head straight into the workforce after graduation. In the future she hopes to further her education by attending college and earning a degree. — Melany Ortiz planea ingresar directamente a la fuerza laboral después de graduarse. Last week, the After School STEAM students had a blast! They created "seed bombs'' using soil and seeds, and then tossed them into different areas around the high school track. The students are eagerly waiting to see bursts of colors that will hopefully pop up in the coming weeks from the wildflowers. In addition, the students also had a great time exploring scientific concepts such as density properties and osmosis. — ¡La semana pasada los estudiantes de STEAM de After School se divirtieron mucho! Crearon "bombas de semillas" usando tierra y semillas, y luego las plantaron en diferentes áreas alrededor de la pista de la escuela secundaria. On Friday night, we had the pleasure of celebrating our Bridge Builder award recipients at the Umatilla Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizens Award Banquet. Congratulations to our Family Liaisons and PTO founders, Chuchy Sanchez and Ashlee White, and Dual Language Kinder Teacher Jessica Garcia Quezada on their well-deserved recognition! We were also excited to witness the recognition of MHES paraprofessional Carrie Holmes as Umatilla Citizen of the Year and Columbia Harvest Foods as Business of the Year. We truly appreciate you all for your commitment to our community! Senior Spotlight! Peyton Childers has chosen to pursue his passion for automotive technology by attending Perry Technical Institute. After completing his studies, he hopes to work at a car dealership. — Peyton Childers ha elegido perseguir su pasión por la tecnología automotriz asistiendo al Instituto Técnico Perry. Senior Spotlight! Valeria DeLa Cruz Chavez is excited to pursue a career in HVAC Engineering. She is currently exploring her options and considering attending a community college or trade school. Once she earns her certificate, Valeria has her sights set on becoming an entrepreneur and working independently. She plans to work for a company later in the future. — Valeria DeLa Cruz Chavez está emocionada de seguir una carrera en Ingeniería HVAC.
