Thank you to Umatilla Parks and Recreation and Umatilla Public Library for organizing a fantastic End-of-Summer Celebration at our feeding sites this week! Last week’s field trip to the Hermiston community garden was a blast! Thanks to OSU and Master Gardeners for joining us. After harvesting kale from the McNary garden, we made some delicious kale chips. Special thanks to Carolina Muniz with OSU Snap ED and her assistants, Madeline & Ashley, for their amazing 7-week curriculum with our Summer School classes and for visiting us at the garden! – ¡La excursión de la semana pasada al jardín comunitario de Hermiston fue increíble! Starting Summer 2024: Oregon Summer EBT is a program that will help pay for meals and will renew each year. Eligible school-age children will receive $120 per child during the summer for groceries. Summer break is a great time for students preparing to get their instruction permit to take their Oregon DMV knowledge test online. Students just need a laptop or a computer with a webcam, keyboard, mouse, and reliable internet. Students under 18 will need someone 21 or older to supervise them taking the test. Once they pass the online test, they can confidently head to a nearby DMV office with their identity documents to have their card issued.
