Congratulations to McNary Heights Vice Principal, Tim Young! Mr. Young completed the 127th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 17th. The marathon is an annual race that is 26.2 miles long! Pictured with Mr. Young is his dad who also ran the marathon in 2012. We are so happy that Mr. Young could share this moment with his dad and are so proud of his incredible accomplishment!

Students from Clara Brownell’s Middle School humanities classes took a trip to Whitman Mission last Thursday, April 13th! At this national historic site students learned about the history, culture, and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest.

Support our UHS Softball team and help them honor McNary Heights Elementary School teacher Jordan Bennett at tomorrow's "Strike-Out Cancer" softball game! Game time is at 4 o'clock at the UHS softball field. Before the game, at 3:50pm, a brief recognition ceremony will be held for Jordan Bennett.

McNary Heights' latest Food Tasting was Broccoli-Raisin Salad! This salad was made from broccoli, raisins, bacon, and a mayonnaise sauce. Students who enjoyed this food item got to take the recipe home!

Tri-County is a band festival where small high school band programs in Umatilla, Morrow, and Sherman counties come together to perform in one big band directed by a guest conductor. Pilot Rock hosted this year's band festival on April 5th.

Yesterday Key Club members from the Umatilla High School hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive! Their goal was to collect 20 units of blood, and they exceeded this goal with 27 units. We are so grateful for all the donors who helped achieve this goal and for helping save lives (one unit of blood can save up to three lives)! We would also like to thank our Key Club for hosting this event and supporting donors throughout the process!
