Umatilla High School’s National Honor Society completed its annual service trip to Twin Rocks Friends Camp this month! Students helped the camp with landscaping, clearing paths, and constructing small projects. Excellent work, Vikings! Thank you, Twin Rocks Friends Camp, for hosting this volunteer opportunity for our students! ¡La Sociedad Nacional de Honor de la Escuela Preparatoria Umatilla completó su viaje de servicio anual al Campamento de Amigos de Twin Rocks este mes! Los estudiantes ayudaron al campamento con el paisajismo, la limpieza de caminos y la construcción de pequeños proyectos. ¡Excelente trabajo, vikingos! ¡Gracias, Campamento de Amigos de Twin Rocks, por organizar esta oportunidad de voluntariado para nuestros estudiantes!

This week was the start of McNary Heights’s Marathon! The marathon encourages students to run/walk the track during their first recess. After every ten laps they collect a toe token! ¡Esta semana fue el comienzo del maratón de McNary Heights! Registration forms for session four of the STEAM Academy are now available at all three schools! Forms must be turned in by Thursday, March 23rd. Late forms will be accepted; however, the first date of attendance and class placement will depend on availability. Los formularios de inscripción están disponibles en las tres escuelas. The Oregon Human Development Corporation ( Ohdc Hermiston) has this box at the Umatilla School District Office. The box will be picked up on Monday, April 3rd. If you have a long-sleeve shirt you'd like to donate, please drop it off at the District Office by April 3rd. FoodCorp members are bringing their food adventures to Clara Brownell! Lourdes and Teena visited CBMS for a Cafeteria Food Tasting! They served blueberry hummus made from three simple ingredients–garbanzo beans, blueberries, and honey. Several students enjoyed this nutritious food item and even went back for seconds! ¡Los miembros de FoodCorp traen sus aventuras de comida a Clara Brownell! ¡Lourdes y Teena visitaron CBMS para una degustación de comida en la cafetería! Sirvieron hummus de arándanos hecho con tres ingredientes simples: garbanzos, arándanos y miel. ¡Varios estudiantes disfrutaron de este alimento nutritivo e incluso regresaron por unos segundos!
