Our students at McNary Heights rocked the talent show! We had a blast with so many awesome acts, and the entire school came together to watch them. It's the one event where every single student in the school gathers in the same spot. So much talent and so much fun! – ¡Nuestros estudiantes de McNary Heights brillaron en el show de talentos! Summer in Oregon just got more awesome thanks to Summer EBT! Summer EBT’s mission is to help get healthy meals to kids throughout the summer break from school. Eligible school-aged children will each get $120 for groceries this summer, and the program will renew each year. If your household has an EBT card (Oregon Trail Card), your funds will be added to that card this summer. Otherwise, you’ll get a new card in the mail after you’ve been determined eligible. Congratulations to the recipients of the 2024 Promise Scholarships! We are proud of you, Gianna, Abrahan, Jade, and Alexa (not pictured). Each recipient will be awarded $100, which will be held in trust until their graduation from Umatilla High School. Additionally, these students will receive an extra $100 for each year they remain on track to graduate from UHS, with a total potential award of up to $500. Thank you to the Umatilla High School Alumni Association for your ongoing commitment to recognizing and rewarding students for their excellence in school! – ¡Felicitaciones a los beneficiarios de las Becas Promesa 2024! G. – Maintained 100% attendance with no tardies for the second semester. Jhenevieve B. – Maintained 100% attendance with no tardies for the entire 2023-24 school year. Congratulations to our fourth-quarter award winners at MHES! At McNary's last assembly, we celebrated numerous achievements. We recognized students who received a MOST award, as well as those who earned behavior awards. We also honored high achievers on the ELPA assessment, graduates from the English Language Development (ELD) Program, and completers of the Native Language Learners (NLL) Program. Check out highlights from our annual McNary Olympics at MHES! Since 2014, 2nd through 5th graders have come together for a day of friendly competition. Each class chooses a country to research and represent in track and field events. The older grades compete in the morning, then a closing ceremony is held where 4th and 5th grade students share facts about their country. The younger grades then compete in the afternoon. In each event, awards are given to the top three winners. Today was Fly Up Day for our 8th-graders! They toured UHS, learned about available extracurricular activities, and registered for classes. They also played fun games and worked on goal setting to be ready for high school next year! – ¡Hoy fue el Día de Fly Up para nuestros estudiantes de octavo grado!
