There will be no school for McNary Heights Elementary students only on Friday, January 27th. This is a report card Friday. Teachers will be grading and preparing end of the quarter grades. Classes will resume at normal times on Monday, January 30th.
Last week FoodCorp Service Members Lourdes and Teena encouraged students at McNary Heights to try a new healthy food item with a Cafeteria Food Tasting! Students tried the food item, hummus! After trying the hummus, students rated the food item on whether they liked it a lot, kind of liked it, or didn’t like it at all. What do you think the results were?

There was a gas-like smell outside McNary Heights. Thank you, Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District, for your quick response. They tested the air for us and all is fine and clear. No cause for alarm.

We have reports of statements made during tonight's basketball broadcast that were unacceptable. The statements were appalling, and we denounce them. A full investigation is currently under way. Hate has no place at Umatilla High School. We, as a school community, stand for respect and inclusion, a place where all are free to learn in a safe and welcoming environment. Following the investigation, we will move forward to address this act and ensure that all people are accepted and treated with respect in our schools. That is the work that lies before us.
