UMATILLA — Wyatt Parsons won the 100, 200 and ran a leg on the winning 4x100 relay team as the Weston-McEwen boys ran away with the team title Friday, April 18, at River’s Edge.

The TigerScots piled up 154.5 points, with Enterprise a distant second with 108.5. Umatilla finished third (30), Riverside was fourth (52), McLoughlin eighth (35), Irrigon 10th (25) and Ione was 12th (11).

Parsons turned in a time of 11.33 to win the 100, with teammate Tristan Weseman fourth with a PR of 11.97.

In the 200, Parsons clocked a PR of 23.04, with Umatilla’s Mason Munoz second with a PR of 23.57. Parsons also was fourth in the long jump with a mark of 19-4.5.

Parsons ran the anchor leg of the 4x100 relay that turned in a time of 44.61, a full second ahead of second-place Enterprise. Also on the team were Weseman, Logan Ray and Easton Berry. 

Arden Shaul finished second in the 1,500 for the TigerScots, running a PR of 4:14.63. He was a half-step behind Riverside’s Nathen Hammond, who had a PR of 4:14.36.

Shaul went on to win the 3,000 with a PR of 9:40.79. He was 10 seconds faster than Riverside’s Eric Pullen (9:50.91), who was second. W-M’s David Webb (10:42.95) and David Murphy (10:43.98) were third and fourth.

Jace Dunlap won the shot for the TigerScots with a heave of 45-2, and placed third in the discus (112-4). Dylan Monaco won the javelin with a PR of 142-7, while teammate Easton Berry was fourth (130-1). Berry also was third in the 300 hurdles with a PR of 44.46.

In the horizontal jumps, Weseman was second in the long jump with a leap of 19-7.75, and third in the triple jump at 38-1.5

Umatilla’s Jayden Perches won the 300 hurdles with a tie of 42.49. He also was part of the winning 4x400 relay team with Munoz, Atticus Tesch and Tanner Prindle that turned in a time of 3:36.76. Perches also was on the 4x100 relay team that was third (45.69). Munoz also won the long jump with a PR of 21-0.25.

For Mac-Hi, Tristen Sewell won the high jump (5-8), while Dayne Knifong won the pole vault with a PR of 10-3. Irrigon’s Sam Cole was second in the pole vault at 9-9.

Riverside’s Osmin Barrera won the 110 hurdles (17.47) and was fifth in the 300s (44.97).

Ione was without speedy Henry Giefing, but Carter Eynetich was third in the shot put with a PR of 37-3.5, and fifth in the discus with a PR of 107-8.5.

Grant Union won the girls team title with 122 points, with Weston-McEwen second with 108. Umatilla was fourth (69), Mac-Hi fifth (64), Riverside seventh (32) and Irrigon 10th (16).

Weston-McEwen got titles from Addy Hall in the 100 hurdles with a PR of 16.59, and the 300 hurdles with a PR of 48.61. She also was second in the 100 with a PR of 13.57.

Hall finished her day as part of the winning 4x100 relay team with Brynn Brownie, Charlotte Hansell and Kelsey Graham that turned in a time of 51.84.

Graham also was second in the 100 hurdles with a PR of 17.19, and second in the 300 hurdles (50.45). Hansell was second in the triple jump (30-5) and fifth in the long jump (14-5.25).

Mac-Hi dominated the javelin event, with Addy Brown unleashing the winning throw of 101-5. Miley Rhoads was second (98-4), and Abi Perkin third with a PR of 98-1.

Rhoads also was second in the high jump with a height of 4-8, while Brown was third in the pole vault (6-9), and Perkins sixth in the 100 (14.27).

Umatilla’s Rylee Sanchez won the shot put with a mark of 32-2. She also was third in the discus (88-7) and sixth in the javelin with a PR of 94-11.

Also for the Vikings, Camila Rodriguez-Campos won the long jump at 15-10.25, with teammate EvaLynn Campos second with a PR of 15-2.
