UMATILLA 7, JOSEPH/ENTERPRISE/WALLOWA 6 — With the bases loaded and two outs, Linkin Zamudio was hit by a pitch to drive in the winning run as the Vikings opened Eastern Oregon League play with a road win over the Eagles.
Umatilla (8-2 overall, 1-0 EOL), which trailed 6-5 entering the seventh, scored its first run of the inning on a passed ball.
Holding a precious one-run lead, Carter Griggs struck out the side in the bottom half of the inning to preserve the win.
RJ Estrada went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored for Umatilla, while Davis Raymond had a triple and Zamudio drove in two runs.
Gabe Nobles went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Eagles (5-6, 1-1), while Case Melville was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
