UMATILLA 3, RIVERSIDE 2 — The Pirates won the No. 1 singles and doubles matches, but the Vikings won the rest for a road win over Riverside.

Adalia Chavez won the No. 1 singles match with an 8-2 victory over Eden Enkey, and Miriam Patricio and Yuridia Calvillo took the top doubles match 8-4 over Dulce Serrano and Briseida Mendoza.

The Vikings wrapped up the match with an 8-5 victory by Patricia Oseguera over Lucero Zaragoza, and a 6-3 win by Naeyeli Rodarte over Samantha Torres.

In doubles, Esmeralda Rodriguez and Valery Palomino walked away with an 8-2 win for Umatilla.

Boys Tennis
RIVERSIDE 4, UMATILLA 4 — The Pirates and Vikings split their matches for a tie in Boardman.

Shalom Mendoza won the No. 1 singles match for Riverside with an 8-2 win over Josh Mendoza, while Jason Zamora won the No. 2 match with an 8-4 victory over Liam Early.

Umatilla came back to win the No. 3 and No. 4 matches, as Julian Martinez beat Angel Sanchez 6-4, and Jose Bautista topped Marcos Sanchez 6-3.

In doubles, the Pirates won the No. 1 match as Ivan Montano and Juan Bravo beat Joel Angel and Brayan Padilla 8-5. At No 2, Umatilla’s Aaron Vargas and Zander Wall beat Omar Coria and Cairo Rodriguez 8-3.

Riverside’s Carlos Acosta and Orlando Madrigal won the No. 3 match 6-3, while Umatilla won the final match 6-2.
