UMATILLA 13, WESTON-MCEWEN 5 — RJ Estrada had three hits and drove in two runs to help the Vikings to a win over the TigerScots at the CU Spring Bash at Eastern Oregon University.
Umatilla led 6-0 in the middle of the third and 8-3 after four.
The Vikings (4-2) pulled away for good with three runs in the fifth, highlighted by an RBI double by David Garcia, and an RBI single by Estrada.
Weston-McEwen scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, both coming off the same error.
Bryce Morris went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Vikings, while Estrada and Davis Raymond also hit a double.
Raymond also picked up the win, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out seven.
For Weston-McEwen (0-4), Tim Taylor had a double and two RBIs, while Aiden Mahaffey had a double. Taylor also took the loss, going up 11 runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts over six innings.
