CLATSKANIE 18, UMATILLA 13 — Olivia George drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Tigers past the Vikings at the Seaside Tournament. George hit a two-run double in the second inning, and added a two-run home run in the fourth.
Umatilla opened the game with two runs in the top of the first, taking advantage of two bases-loaded walks.
The Tigers got one run back in the bottom of the frame, then cut loose for six runs in the second, three in the third and eight in the fourth for an 18-7 lead.
The Vikings rallied for six runs in the fifth, including a ground out by Sara Wilson, a wild pitch, a bases-loaded walk, and three on errors.
Umatilla had three hits for the game, two by Khloe Hinrichsen and one by Kaylonni Schaefer. They took advantage of 15 walks and 10 errors on the part of the Tigers.
Umatilla’s Meghan Owens and Brooke Gerard combined to give up 18 run on 17 hits. They had two strikeouts and five walks.
The Vikings lost their first game of the tournament 18-5 to Rainier. No details were available.
