UMATILLA 57, NIXYAAWII 54 — In the battle of unbeatens, the Viking eked out a home win over the Golden Eagles.
“We told the kids we wanted to make sure it was a challenge,” Umatilla coach Scott Bow said. “They move the ball well, they run the court and play fast. Our overall defense, with Carter Monahan and Mason Munoz did a good job disrupting what they wanted to do.”

Micheal Montez led the Vikings with 23 points, while David Garcia, who missed last week with an illness, had 16 points and six rebounds.
“Micheal has been a fantastic leader for us,” Bow said. “He’s a lead- by-example guy and everyone is following him pretty well.
Rylen Bronson led the Golden Eagles (4-1) with 21 points six rebounds and four assists, while Symon Picard had 12 points and five assists, and Sun Schimmel had eight points and 11 rebounds.
