Boys Basketball 
UMATILLA 67, MCLOUGHLIN 50 — Micheal Montez had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead the Vikings to an Eastern Oregon League road win over the Pioneers to close out the regular season.

Umatilla (19-5 overall, 7-3 EOL) will play at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Burns in an EOL district playoff game. Mac-Hi finished its season at 8-16. The Vikings sailed out to a 21-10 lead after the first quarter, and led 37-28 at the half.

A 19-7 run in the third third quarter gave the Vikings a little breathing room at 56-35. The Pioneers won on a 15-11 run in the fourth, but it wouldn’t be enough.

Mike McGee added 12 points and seven rebounds for Umatilla, while David Garcia had nine points and four rebounds.

Giovanny Sandoval led Mac-Hi with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Rajdeep Singh had nine points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Tucker Brunot had three steals.

Girls Basketball 
UMATILLA 31, MCLOUGHLIN 20 — The Vikings closed out their Eastern Oregon League schedule with a road win over the Pioneers.

Umatilla (14-9 overall, 6-4 EOL) will play at Burns at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the EOL district tournament.

Mac-Hi ended its season 3-20 overall and 1-9 in EOL play.

The Pioneers took a 14-13 lead at the half, only to see the Vikings go out front 21-20 after three quarters.

Haidyn Thompson and Shay McCallister each had three points in the fourth quarter as Umatilla outscored Mac-Hi 10-0 to seal the win.

Alyiah Howard led the Vikings with seven points, while EvaLynn Campos and Lily Ziniga each had six.

Miley Rhoads led Mac-Hi with six points, while Aisling Giguiere and Maddie Sriefel each had four.
