Boys Basketball 
UMATILLA 71, NYSSA 35 — Carter Monahan had a game-high 23 points to help the Vikings to an Eastern Oregon League road win over the Bulldogs.

Monahan and Micheal Montez each scored 15 of his points in the first half as Umatilla (17-4 overall, 5-2 EOL) took a commanding 50-18 lead at the half.

The Vikings outscored the Bulldogs 21-17 in the second half while sitting their starters in the fourth quarter quarters.

Montez added 17 points, five assists and four steals for Umatilla while Mike McGee had eight points and seven rebounds. David Garcia chipped in six rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Kingston Bias led the Bulldogs (10-11, 1-6) with 21 points, while Avery Larson had six.

Girls Basketball 
UMATILLA 40, NYSSA 35 — The Vikings took an early lead, then held off the Bulldogs down the stretch for an Eastern Oregon League road win.

Shay McCallister scored five of her seven points in the first quarter as Umatilla (12-8 overall, 4-3 EOL) got out to a 16-9 lead at the end of the first quarter

The Bulldogs (8-13, 3-4) went on a 12-9 run in the second to pull within 25-21 at the half.

Umatilla outscored Nyssa 15-14 in the second half to secure the win. Alyiah Howard led the Vikings with 10 points, while Ruby Chavez added eight.

Chloe Johns and Paisley Johnson each had nine points to lead the Bulldogs.
