Girls Basketball 
DE LA SALLE NORTH CATHOLIC 42, UMATILLA 41 — In a game that was decided at the free-throw line, the Knights hit 18 of 32 shots in the fourth quarter to eke out a win in the Black Bracket at the Crusader Classic at Salem Academy High School.

After each team scored five points in the first quarter, the Vikings went on a 15-8 run in the second for a 20-13 lead at the half. Umatilla had a 22-18 lead going into the fourth quarter, where free throws made the difference.

The Vikings (7-4) went 6-for-16 from the line in the fourth as they fell one point short. Umatilla was 10 of 28 from the line for the game. 

Jordyn Escamilla led the Vikings with 11 points, while EvaLynn Campos had seven. 

The Knights (3-5), who were 24 of 50 from the line, got 17 points from Liv Jones.

Boys Basketball 
TRINITY LUTHERAN 63, UMATILLA 56 — In a close game throughout, the Saints used a 20-16 run in the fourth quarter to help seal a win over the Vikings in the semifinals of the Black Bracket at the Crusader Classic at Salem Academy High School.

It was the first loss of the season for Umatilla (10-1), which will play Mannahouse Christian in the third-place game Saturday.

The Vikings opened the game with a 17-10 lead in the first quarter, but the Saints went on a 20-11 run in the second to take a 30-28 lead at the half.

Trinity Lutheran extended its lead to 43-30 at the end of the third, then closed out the game in the fourth.

Carter Monahan led the Vikings with 18 points, while David Garcia added 13 points and four steals, and Micheal Montez had 12 points and six assists. Mike McGee hauled down 12 rebounds.

Andrew Imhoff led the Saints (6-4) with 20 points, while Chance Nichols and Chimi Gilbert each had 17.
