UMATILLA 85, IRRIGON 42 — Micheal Montez poured in 27 points, had seven steals and five assists to lead the Vikings to a home win over the Knights in the first round of the Columbia River Clash. Umatilla (3-0) jumped out to a 31-9 lead in the first quarter and cruised from there. Montez scored 15 of his points in the first quarter. Mike McGee added 13 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Vikings, while Davis Raymond, Troy Frost and Carter Monahan each had eight points. Raymond also had six rebounds. Bennette Atkins led the Knights with 10 points, while Curtis Krogh added nine.
ELGIN 37, UMATILLA JV 34 — Hunter Myers had 10 points to lead the Huskies to a win over the Vikings at the Columbia River Clash in Umatilla. Umatilla led 12-11 after the first quarter, but Elgin (2-1) went on an 11-7 run in the second to lead 22-19 at the half. The Vikings took a 29-27 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Huskies outscored Umatilla 10-5 to eke out the win. Kyler Perkins added eight points for Elgin, while Kole Knight had seven. Linkin Zamudio led Umatilla with 12 points, while Edwin Madrigal- Armenta had seven.

UMATILLA 76, IRRIGON 8 — Shay McCallister scored a game-high 22 points and the Vikings beat the Knights in the first round of the Columbia River Clash at Umatilla High School. It was the highest point total for Umatilla (4-0) since beating Stanfield 77-21 on Jan. 20, 2015. McCallister scored 15 of her points in the second half as the Vikings led from start to finish. Haidyn Thompson added 12 points for Umatilla, while Ruby Chavez added 11, including three 3-pointers in the second quarter. Aliva Gridely led the Knights (1-3) with five points.
