UMATILLA DROPS 2 — The Vikings finished their season with a pair of Eastern Oregon League losses, starting with a 25-11, 25-9, 25-11 loss at Nyssa. They then dropped a 25-7, 25-9, 25-13 match at Vale. “We have many pieces on our team, just not all of them fitting into place,” Umatilla coach Samantha Erz said. “As we end our season, we are already looking ahead to future plans and goals. Working to get those pieces connecting in all the right places.” Against the Bulldogs, Nya Rodarte had three kills, Sara Wilson five assists, Phoenix McQuown two aces and Olivia McCallister two aces and one kill. In the match with Vale, Wilson had five aces, while Itahy Ronquillo had two kills. Umatilla finished the season 0-21 overall and 0-10 in EOL play.

GRANT UNION 3, UMATILLA 2 — Alexa Garcia and Yareli Coria Garay each had a goal, but the Vikings fell short in the end against the visiting Prospectors to close out their Special District 5 season. Goalkeeper Rashayla McCallister finished with four saves for Umatilla (4-10-1 overall, 4-9-1 SD5).
