ONTARIO 3, UMATILLA 1 — The Tigers held off the pesky Vikings with a 25-21, 25-16, 20-25, 25-15 non league home win — just their second win of the season. For the Vikings (0-17 overall), it was the first time they pushed a match to four sets all season. “Strong defense with blocks and digs,” Umatilla coach Samantha Era said. “Good team play all around.” Sara Wilson led the Vikings with six aces and 10 assists, while Dulce Serrano-Coria had five aces, Zamara Vera four ace and two kills, Naeyeli Rodarte six kills, and Yoselin Macias two blocks.

UMATILLA 2, NYSSA 1 — Jose Coria and Santos Adan each scored a goal in the first half to lead the Vikings to a Special District 6 home win over the Bulldogs. “I’m glad that my boys celebrated Senior Night with a victory,” Umatilla coach Pedro Ortiz said. Abrahan Garcia finished with one save for the Vikings (5-6-2 overall, 4-4-1 SD6).

UMATILLA 0, NYSSA 0 — Rashayla McCallister finished with three saves to help the Vikings salvage a Special District 5 tie at home against the Bulldogs. Umatilla (4-8-1 overall, 4-7-1 SD5) will play Tuesday at Four Rivers.
