RIVERSIDE 3, UMATILLA 0 — The Pirates ended a five-game skid with a 25-9, 25-13, 25-19 Eastern Oregon League road win over the Vikings. Elaina Salgado had eight kills and eight of Riverside’s 17 aces. Yahaira Serrano had 23 digs for the Pirates, who improved to 2-0 in league play and 5-6 overall. Esmeralda Rodriguez-Muniz had three kills and two blocks for the Vikings (0-9 overall, 0-3 EOL), while Dulce Serrano had three kills, and Sara Wilson had eight assists. “We started slow, but had a slight comeback with our strong net play,” Umatilla coach Samantha Erz said.

UMATILLA 5, IRRIGON 0 — Rashayla McCallister had seven saves in posting a shutout to lead the Vikings to a Special District 5 road win over the Knights. Yesenia Castaneda led Umatilla (4-4 SD5) with two goals, while Khloe Hinrichsen, Valerie Campos Mendoza and Kaylonni Schaefer each had one goal. The Vikings will play Oct. 1 at Echo/Stanfield.

UMATILLA 1, IRRIGON 1 — The Special District 6 game in Irrigon was halted with 14 minutes remaining in the second half because of an injury to a Umatilla player. The teams agreed to a tie game. Bryan Padilla scored on a penalty kick for the Vikings (4-3-1 overall, 3-2-1 SD6). The Knights are 1-3-1 in SD6 play.
