The Umatilla School District celebrated the completion of its bond projects with two events on Friday, June 7th, a lunch and dinner with tours starting at Clara Brownell Middle School. Many community members enjoyed a meal in the cafeteria along with a summary by Superintendent Heidi Sipe about the exciting updates that have been completed. Bus/walking tours at all three schools were also available. There was an official ribbon cutting on Friday evening as well as the presentation of a $78,000 check from Energy Trust of Oregon.
The bond projects were completed ahead of schedule and under budget, said Sipe. “We are proud of the projects we have accomplished and are excited to show our community the results of their support,” she said.
